In "Primeval and Other Times," Olga Tokarczuk weaves a tapestry of fourfoldness, capturing the cyclical cadence of existence: winter, spring, summer, autumn, interlaced with the dimensions of time—space, past, present, and future.

The stone-carved vase stands as a poignant testament to nature's ephemeral beauty, a silent witness to the journey of a flower from radiant bloom to tender decay. As one brings home a bouquet and arranges its blossoms in harmonious succession, a fleeting moment is crystallized—a flower's lifecycle elegantly suspended in time. In this delicate interplay, the vase becomes a vessel for the passage of time and the myriad emotions it evokes, while the stone reveals a gentle, almost poetic presence.

Within these sculpted vases, fragments of time converge, the material embodying the quiet flow of existence, recording its passage with serene objectivity. The artist employs this collection as a medium to reflect on and resist the relentless tide of time, offering intimate glimpses into the fabric of life.
Rather than a mere exhibition, the artist beckons viewers into her living room, transforming the space into a sanctuary of contemplation. The ten vases transcend their status as mere objects; they are a narrative of the artist's journey, a lyrical reflection of her creative process. Set aside the weighty themes of materiality versus spirituality, transience versus eternity, and memory versus oblivion. Instead, gaze upon a single stone vase and revel in the exquisite stillness of a moment captured in time.

My terrazzo vase series embodies the essence of material exploration through both form and process. Crafted from full blocks of terrazzo, the design emphasizes its distinct texture through curvilinear shapes that distort and enhance its natural beauty, inviting both tactile and visual engagement.
By encouraging viewers to touch and gaze at the material, the vase transforms terrazzo from a construction medium into a contemplative object. This sensory interaction highlights the tension between permanence and transience, capturing the ephemeral journey of a flower’s life. Moments of bloom and decay are crystallized within the enduring stone, offering a poetic reflection on the passage of time. By merging craft, history, and sensory experience, the project engages with deep themes of time, memory, and materiality.
