Rem Koolhaas -- Countryside, the Future
Deeply influenced by Rem Koolhaas’s idea in the exhibition Countryside, the Future that ‘the countryside is now the site where the most radical, modern components of our civilization are taking place.’ We proposed the design of Clean Energy Plaza as a popular science education pilot project in Da’yan Village, Ningbo, Zhejiang, China.
The site is in the intersection of farmland and residents’ houses. We hope to extend the significant countryside texture ‘farmland’ into our site. By overlapping clean energy programs to the site, we strive to develop an innovative approach of countryside landscape, which is totally different from traditional farmland images.
