Cloud Machine

Design by Yujin, Crafted by Khanh, 12/2024
Cloud Machine is a functional sculptural object that reimagines industrial form at the scale of the home. Shaped like a factory with a vertical chimney, the ceramic humidifier releases a soft, drifting cloud into domestic space, transforming an emblem of industrial production into an intimate and atmospheric presence.
By bringing the language of infrastructure into everyday life, the work invites viewers to reflect on their personal relationship to energy systems, environmental cycles, and shared climate responsibility. The familiar form of the chimney is no longer associated with pollution or extraction, but reinterpreted as a site of renewal and care. In this way, Cloud Machine blurs the boundary between utility and sculpture, proposing new ways of imagining sustainable futures through small, everyday gestures.

And here’s the twist: with a simple transformation, Cloud Machine doubles as a flower vase, seamlessly blending functionality and beauty into a single poetic object.
